Due to the lengthy process of our ARA registration, in order to meet the Henley 2009 deadline, we had to fast track a few things such as blade colours, badges etc. So for the time being (and for the rowing almanac), we have nominated our club colours as Purple, Gold and White – ie the current MUBC colours. The blade design works by just wrapping white tape round existing MUBC blades!!

However we are keen to reflect our heritage in both “Owens” and UMIST, so we are working on a new design as we speak. One initial idea is shown below (incorporating Owens Maroon and White and UMIST Black and White) but you may have your own ideas – let us know!

Proposed Nemesis Colours

I take great pleasure in announcing that as of 10th June 2008, Nemesis Boat Club has registered with the Amateur Rowing Association (ARA) This means that we are now eligible to enter any ARA event under the name of Nemesis BC.
In addition, I am proud to say that, though we had some heart stopping moments, we were able to get the application and approval in time to compete at Henley Royal Regatta 2009! So many thanks for everyone involved including Mark Hamer of Trafford RC and Simon Darbrough who helped with the water safety and constitution sign off respectively.
Of course there is still a lot to do. However, our two major rowing aims for 2009 are to get an VIII out at Head of the River and to put together a crew for Henley 2009.
